Railay town is quite small, and really just one main street with a handful of restaurants. If you're looking to explore at night, you'll run out of things to do. But if you're looking for tranquility, Railay is great in the evenings. I actually didn't stay overnight in Ao Nang / Krabi town, but it struck me as typical Thai beach town.
